CaddyBytes 🏆 2026 CJ CUP Byron Nelson Final Round Recap: Wyndham Clark closed the CJ CUP Byron Nelson with a final-round charge at TPC Craig Ranch, turning a tight Sunday leaderboard into his victory in Texas. Clark started the day chasing Si Woo Kim, but his putter, wedge play, and closing-round aggression pushed him all the way to 30-under.
The final round opened with plenty of movement. Tom Hoge attacked early with a strong approach into the 1st, Jackson Suber chipped in and kept applying pressure, Keith Mitchell made a move in red trousers, and several players briefly looked capable of turning Sunday into a crowded shootout. But Clark quickly became the story.
Clark birdied the 2nd, kept hitting controlled wedges into scoring range, and by the early stretch had picked up three birdies in his first five holes. His short game was sharp, his pace on the greens was excellent, and the broadcast repeatedly pointed to how comfortable he looked as he climbed into a share of the lead.
The middle of the round gave the tournament its biggest swing. Clark produced a brilliant short-game save around the 9th, then added an eagle at the par-5 12th to create separation. From there, he kept pouring in putts, including a long-range birdie that moved him deeper into control of the championship.
Si Woo Kim did not disappear. After carrying the lead through 54 holes, Kim answered with birdies and made a pair of clutch par saves to keep himself in the fight. His final-round 65 was strong enough to finish solo second, but Clark’s closing 60 was too much to catch.
Scottie Scheffler also stayed near the top of the board with another steady 65. He made key birdies and continued to apply pressure, but he could not match Clark’s Sunday surge. Scheffler finished third at 25-under, capping another strong week in his home-state event.
Clark nearly flirted with a 59 late in the round, but even without that number, his closing 60 was the championship-defining round. He finished at 30-under, 254, three shots clear of Kim and five clear of Scheffler, sealing a dominant final-round win at TPC Craig Ranch.
Final leaderboard note: Wyndham Clark won the 2026 CJ CUP Byron Nelson at 30-under, 254, after rounds of 66-63-65-60. His final-round 60 turned a two-shot deficit into a three-shot victory.
Si Woo Kim finished second at 27-under, 257, with rounds of 64-60-68-65. Kim’s Friday 60 built the tournament lead, and his Sunday 65 kept him in position, but Clark’s closing run overtook him.
Scottie Scheffler finished third at 25-under, 259, after posting 66-63-65-65. Jackson Suber was fourth at 23-under, 261, helped by a final-round 63, while Keith Mitchell finished fifth at 22-under, 262.
Zach Bauchou, Tony Finau, and Tom Hoge tied for sixth at 20-under, 264. Max Greyserman, Sungjae Im, Stephan Jaeger, and Johnny Keefer were among the players at 19-under, 265, rounding out a deep top-10 leaderboard behind Clark’s winning charge.
The final story was simple: Kim controlled the tournament for much of the week, Scheffler remained in range, and several chasers made Sunday noise. But Clark delivered the round of the championship when it mattered most, closing with a 60 and winning the CJ CUP Byron Nelson in Texas.
